Job Description
The “luxury” retail units in T5 were redeveloped to increase the sales area and improve the frontages. Meads were contracted to carry out enabling works, soft strip, hoarding and general builders work and firestopping.
Method
The project was managed by Meads Construction management staff and all works were carried out by directly employed tradesmen. Materials were delivered to site using the off-site logistics facility to suit programme requirements and daily dialogue took place between Mace Ltd and Meads management..

Benefits to Client
Meads Construction were able to call on their extensive experience to ensure the needs of the retailers were met and public enjoyment of the airport was maintained while hoardings and exclusion zones were set up and moved to suit project phasing. The multi trade disciplines required for Meads package were sourced from our direct employed labour. Because of our extensive security cleared workforce we could deal with changing scope and spec as it arose.
